Dolapo Badmus: What is ‘Kapaichumarimarichopako’, My daughter keeps saying it
Popular Nigerian female police officer, Dolapo Badmos, has taken to social media to ask for the meaning of popular slang, ‘kapaichumarimarichopako’. The officer asked the question on the popular micro-blogging platform, Twitter.
The officer said she decided to ask the question after her daughter started saying the slang at home. She noted that she told her daughter to stop but the little girl asked her if she knew the meaning of the slang.
Badmos stated that the question by her daughter led her to ask the meaning of ‘kapaichumarimarichopako’.
The word ‘kapaichumarimarichopako’ was created by rapper Zlatan Ibile who introduces himself in his songs by saying the word.
However, not many Nigerians know the meaning or maybe some of them pretended not to. Some referred her to Zlatan while others just made jokes about it. Others told her that the slang means nothing.
One user told her that she did not spell the word correctly. She wrote ‘shumarimarishupako’.
